The INX Media case shows how the Foreign Investment Promotion Board was used to give clearance to the media group to receiving foreign funds to the tune of Rs. 307 crore, during the time when P. Chidambaram was Finance Minister of India. The C.B.I. had registered an FIR on May 2017, alleging about the irregularities in FIPB clearance. The ED too lodged a money laundering case in the year 2018. Indrani Mukerjea and Peter Mukerjea were the co-founders of INX Media.
